I’m in the middle of packing for our trip to Paris.
One thing that goes on every trip I ever take is an inspiration journal — a special notebook that is dedicated to all the ideas that pop into my brain during time away. And there are always many.
There is something about stepping out of our ordinary routine and place that ignites creative thinking. New surroundings, sights, sounds, and experiences light up our creative minds — if it’s a relaxing experience, all the better. I take advantage by carrying around a discreet notebook to scribble every little idea, to sketch, to note elements of my surroundings that I find interesting, and to express my gratitude.
Always — and I do mean always– I come home with clarity and excitement about what I will offer next. Typically, it brings on a major overhaul of my business map and a wave of new programs and offerings. Meditation for Entrepreneurs was born, so to speak, in a lush Austrian mountain spa. Creating Your Business Map took form in a hospital recovery room. You get my drift.
I am going into this vacation with two intentions: to rest and to have fun. But my inspiration notebook is going with me, tucked into my bags and I know it will get plenty of use. I can’t wait to share what comes to life in the city of lights!!
Do you keep some type of inspiration journal? Are there moments in time that bring you more inspiration than others? Do you seek those moments out often enough to nourish yourself and your business? Tell me about it in the comments. I’ll be back, fresh and energized from Paris, in a few weeks to read your comments.

I have to say I don’t go anywhere without a notebook. You never know when inspiration will strike!

That is so true, Rachel!! I’m just not that great about carrying one out and about — what with snacks, water bottles, toys, etc… I usually have to much crap in my bag! HA!!! Maybe I will make it a goal to find a petite notebook that will fit in my purse, ALL THE TIME!
xo.
Nona
Hi Nona, oh yes, my inspiration notebook is my trusty (and now shabby!) companion. I personally can’t wait to see what comes out of your notebook this trip as all your programs are so fantastic! And Paris is so enchanting….

Have a fabulous time! Ah Paris at the end of summer! To speak and hear and listen to French 24×7. I wish I were going too but I am headed to Switzerland, then Toronto for Film Festival then Singapore then Bali
)! I will be back with inspiration too, Nona. I have no doubt you shall have a remarkable time and come back fully recharged to take on your next project!
