Note: This morning, I was checking my feedburner stats and noticed that this unfinished post had been read by some of my readers. I had accidentally published it and then quickly made it back into a draft. Obviously that doesn’t work! So, I finished it up and now it will be a “bonus” post for today! Happy Monday!
What does success look like to you? I mean really. To you. Not what your neighbor or your Dad thinks success “should” look like for you, but your vision of success for your own life.
In case you haven’t looked for a while, here is the definition of success:

1. The achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted.2.
a. The gaining of fame or prosperity: an artist spoiled by success.b. The extent of such gain.3. One that is successful: The plan was a success.
Most of us live under the assumption that the second definition is the definition that we are all striving for: to gain fame and/or prosperity. That is sort of what we are taught and spoon-fed by the media, right? I certainly spent a good portion of my teens and twenties with my eye on the #2 definition of success.
Not that I’m poo-pooing prosperity at all. But I believe that prosperity and some level of fame are a given if you are going after the achievement of something desired that is in line with your fundamental values and innate skills, and you take inspired action.
This is FAR more interesting to me now, as a coach and personally.
What is your vision of a successful life?
