Personal (r)evolution in 2010

GettingitDone101Happy holidays, everyone!  I hope that you are having a wonderful and relaxing holiday season, with lots of time for reflecting on your intentions and perhaps even a theme for the coming year.  Being unplugged from technology for a week was very inspiring for me and gave me extra time to reflect on how I want to feel this time, next year.

In the last year, I had a mole removed and a surgery on my stomach, spent my summer in Oregon with family, started a training to become a coach and launched my business.  It’s been an amazing, productive, fabulous year.  One that I have absolutely no regrets over.  My priorities were on learning new skills, structuring my business, and coaching – along with all the other stuff that is part of my daily life.  I got a lot done and I am grateful.  But I neglected my body.

After I had the mole removed from my leg, I stopped running.  Then, coach training and business stuff was way more important.  And, well, my deep love of all things sugary.  Consequently, I have gained 15 pounds over the last 10 months. Ouch!

“What does this have to do with me” you ask? Maybe nothing.  But I have lost weight successfully in the past and one thing I know is that doing it with others is the best way to get it done.  So I’ve started a private social network called Getting it Done 101 for amazing women who want to usher in their own personal (r)evolution in 2010.  This is as much for me as it is for you, if you want it.

My Vision for Getting it Done 101

  • First and foremost, I see this network as a supportive, positive, and compassionate place to be accountable to yourself.
  • Weekly check-in’s (daily, if you like) to stay motivated and on track.
  • Members are actively engaged in making the network a community of successful women.
  • I don’t subscribe to a particular diet for myself and I don’t expect anyone else to, either.  I am actually anti-diet and my fervent wish is that the women who join are interested in learning to trust their bodies and figure out WHY they are overeating or under-exercising.
  • A place to share links, videos, and blogs that are helpful.
  • Have fun while ushering in our personal (r)evolutions!!

This is what my personal (r)evolution looks like

This time, next year, I will be living somewhere else. I intend to feel comfortable in my body, strong, and healthy when we leave Rome.

What this looks like:
-Mindful  eating (eg; eating when I’m hungry, stopping at satisfied)
-Minimal sugar
-Eating lots of veggies, fruits, grains, and lean meats (which I love)
-Continuing my daily yoga and meditation practices
-Exercise 4 – 5 times per week

I have been here, and this feels good.  I love how confident I feel about my body when I act in this way. I love how easy it feels after I’ve done it for a while. I love the energy and clarity of mind. I love knowing I take such good care of my body, even when it’s not easy – I love being committed to my own well-being.

And how much easier it makes everything else in my life when I am taking care of myself.

It’s likely you know exactly what you need to do

If you would like to join Getting it Done 101, email me at nona (at) nonajordan (dot) com and tell me what your personal (r)evolution looks like and how you intend to get it done.  I will send you an invite to the group after I’ve read your email.  I’m excited to get to know you all and see all of you – and myself – get it done!  Have a fab New Year celebration and I will get back to a regular posting schedule in 2010.
