It’s been a while since I’ve written a gatha, and in fact, this isn’t a new one. I’ve been going back through my idea books (notebooks that I keep with my ideas for just about everything) and culling the ideas that are still exciting and fresh. I came across this gatha, and oddly enough, I never published it here.
May anyone who is starting something new find comfort and calm – I often find that the energy of change makes me feel a bit impatient and frantic. This gatha has calmed me down considerably over the last few days…
When embarking on any long journey,
I vow with all Beings,
To enjoy where I am in this moment,
And travel one step at a time.

Lovely! I’m going to borrow that one!
I am so feeling the impatience and frantic energy of change, and constantly reminding myself to enjoy the process – this is perfect, thank you! And thanks so much for introducing me to Gatha’s – I can’t wait to start writing my own! I adore the ones you wrote on sugar =)
Exactly! Although not a journey necessarily; working F/T while also still trying to keep my business going, hang out with Seamus and Matt, clean the house, keep the garden alive…. one step at a time nothing will get done or at least not well if I am always running and trying to do them at once.
So much love to you and missing you!
Love it. Thanks.
Nona,
This gatha was as arrow to the exact point on my heart that controls the tear ducts!! When I read your words, I don’t know, just absolutely perfect..as if you wrote them for me. Tears of joy and gratitude..that there are souls of love around me.
Plus, thank you for introducing me to gathas…I love this idea…I will add it to my practice. It’s perfect!!
Peace & Love.
- Connie: gathas are such a lovely practice. Please do share some when you start writing…
- Gretchen: you sound busy. My thoughts are with you as you learn to juggle the increased load…
- Cyndi: I’m so glad you enjoy the blog! I enjoy it, too!
- Briana: Change is funny like that, but I find I enjoy it more if I slow down and take it one step at a time. Which can be almost impossible when we are ready for change NOW!!
That’s such a great saying, thank you so much for sharing it with us. Sometimes it is so hard to understand that the journey is one step at a time. We need to cultivate grace and patience to get there.
